Our experience in dealing with Independent and Public Inquiries arising from healthcare issues is unparalleled.

Partner Stephen Jones is currently Solicitor to the Redfern Inquiry into human tissue analysis in UK nuclear facilities.

Stephen has been involved in several major healthcare enquiries. Firstly, he acted on behalf of over 100 patients of Ashworth Hospital in the Fallon Inquiry (1998) he was also appointed by the Department of Health as Solicitor to the Royal Liverpool Children's Inquiry (2000) into the retention of organs following post mortem examinations at Alder Hey Children's Hospital. The Inquiry was chaired by Michael Redfern QC.

Subsequently, Stephen advised as part of the consultation group involved in discussions regarding the introduction of the Inquiry Act 2005 and Inquiry Procedure (UK) Rules 2006.

Stephen is assisted on the Redfern Inquiry by Chris Gawne who also has experience working on the Shipman Inquiry and the Commission of Inquiry into the Care of Young People in the Isle of Man.

Pannone have also been involved in many other significant Inquiries into events causing death and serious injury. These include the North Wales Child Abuse Inquiry, the inquiries into the sinking of the Herald of Free Enterprise off Zeebrugge, the Lockerbie air disaster, the Kings Cross Underground fire, the sinking of the Thames river boat the Marchionness, the Piper Alpha oil platform fire, the Manchester Airport runway fire and the Kegworth aircrash.

We also have experience assisting clients with GMC complaints. Where appropriate we will make such referrals when pursing a clinical negligence claim. We are also able to call on the expertise of Solicitor Julianne Maclennan who acted on behalf of the General Medical Council and General Teaching Council investigating and preparing cases for hearing before the Professional Conduct/Competence Committees before joining Pannone in 2003.
